As we close the third quarter of 2026 and begin Q4, SY Collective has much to be grateful for.
We had originally planned to make our Q3 donation to Seattle Children’s at the end of September. But when the Mid-Autumn Festival arrived on September 25 — a day traditionally associated with reunion, gratitude, and sharing — it felt like the right moment.
SY Collective officially made our Q3 donation of $8,000 to Seattle Children’s Uncompensated Care Fund.
This gift was made possible by everyone who supported our charity drives and fundraising efforts throughout the quarter. Every contribution, large or small, became part of this $8,000 gift and will help Seattle Children’s provide care to children and families regardless of their ability to pay.
For us, this is also another reminder that our gift-driven fundraising model is beginning to speak for itself. What started as something we often had to explain — give from the heart, and receive a small gift of appreciation — has increasingly become something our community understands simply by participating in it.
But even as we were preparing to close Q3, another expression of compassion was already unfolding.
Compassion Beyond Our Own Community
The response to our recent Nepal relief fundraising effort was extraordinary.
The outpouring of generosity, encouragement, sharing, and concern opened our eyes to how quickly a community can come together when people feel a genuine connection to a need.
We are honored to work with H.E. Thubten Karma Rinpoche, a dedicated philanthropist and compassionate community leader in Nepal. Through his collaborations with Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs, he has supported charitable, humanitarian, and community-service initiatives, including specialized assistance for vulnerable communities.
With the fundraising effort now concluded, we are compiling the final donation total and donor information to share with H.E. Thubten Karma Rinpoche so that this support can be brought directly back to Nepal.
To every person who contributed, shared our posts, encouraged the effort, or simply kept the people of Nepal in your thoughts: thank you.
From One Quarter to the Next
SY Collective was founded through the inspiration of Master Sheng-yen Lu. His teachings on equality, compassion, tolerance, and purity continue to guide the spirit behind this work.
These principles remind us that compassion does not need to be limited by geography, community, or circumstance.
Sometimes it takes the form of helping a child receive medical care here in Washington State. Sometimes it means responding when people thousands of miles away are facing hardship. And sometimes it is simply one person deciding to give, share, help, or encourage.
As we enter Q4, that is the spirit we hope to carry forward.
Q3 ends with gratitude.
Q4 begins with compassion already in motion.
